Mean, Median & Mode Calculator
Mean, Median, Mode & Quartiles x̄, Me, Mo
Enter numbers separated by commas, spaces or semicolons. Write decimals with a point, e.g. 6.5. The tool sorts the data and finds the mean, median, Q1, Q3 and mode.
The calculator above sorts your data and computes the three measures of central tendency: mean, median, and mode.
Formulas used
x̄ = (x₁ + x₂ + … + xₙ) / n
- Median: the middle value of the sorted data, or the average of the two middle values when n is even.
- Mode: the value that appears most often. A data set can have several modes.
Worked example
Data: 2, 3, 3, 5, 7:
mean 4, median 3, mode 3
Enter the same values in the calculator above to see every step of the solution.
