Volume Calculator for 3D Solids

3D Geometry & Solid Volume Calculator V

Choose a solid and enter the dimensions used in its formulas. The solution finds the base area, lateral area, total surface area and volume. Cylinders and cones are shown with π and as decimals.

The calculator above computes the volume of common solids: cube, rectangular box, pyramid, prism, cylinder, and cone.

Formulas used

Prism: V = B·h, Pyramid: V = ⅓·B·h
Cylinder: V = πr²h, Cone: V = ⅓πr²h
  • B is the area of the base and h the height.

Worked example

Cone with r = 3 and h = 4:

V = 12π ≈ 37.70

Enter the same values in the calculator above to see every step of the solution.
